• Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain…It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

    Psalm 127

  • When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong

    R. Buckminster Fuller

  • Omit needless words…Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.

William Strunk, Jr; The Elements of Style

  • Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

    Proverbs 16:3
